Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town 2017 launch

Happy Tuesday dolls! Yesterday I was at the launch of the MBFWCT17 courtesy of the fabulous people at Mercedes-Benz SA. The launch was held at the stunning Mesh in Rosebank just up the Glam Alley! I spent the night with some fabulous leaders in fashion in Johannesburg and the gracious Dr Precious Motsepe.

OOTN: I stepped out in my bamboo handle Gucci Dinosysus with my a snug pair of jeans and strappy heels – P.S this baby is a def part of my classic bags now! I saw the black one on Beyonce and died, I had to get my own in my own style something that was a bit more missposhglam, Gucci collection is growing gradually, Ive always been an LV lover so the the change is still scary *covers eyes*. Yesterdays look was a inspired by the Queens look one of my faves casual yet classy.

Partnering with Mercedes-Benz SA, AFI, via Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town 2017,aims to take fashionable motoring from the road to the runway; driving home the synergy between hatchbacks and handbags, roadsters and hipsters, bringing guests ‘the best or nothing.’
Set on the stylish strip of Camps Bay, at the Camps Bay Sports Complex, the Mercedes-BenzFashion Week Cape Town 2017 tent will emulate the likes of Bryant Park for New York
Fashion Week, and this edgy setup will house a host of exciting experiences from the 23rd-
25th March 2017.

Kicking off with a silver carpeted launch event, the line-up of Designers and showcase of
iconic moments over the past decade, will serve as the story for the creative canvas that is
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town 2017.
Creativity is contagious and we aim to engage, entertain and inspire audiences long after the collection on the catwalk.

In addition, there will be an array of activations to engage guests, including building a
Polaroid photo wall, and snapshots of your Experience AFI journey. With complimentary
social wi-fi and charging stations, guests will be encouraged to snap shots of themselves and their friends with the metallic Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town balloons and curate content for their social media platforms.

With the best of everything that fashion has to offer from an experiential point of view,
inclusive innovation will ensure that each guest enjoys Experience AFI with fashion as the

SS17 Beauty Trends

Hi dolls! It’s been a while and I’m super excited to be back on my blog, I had to take a break due to health reasons but I’m back in full swing! I was at fashion week a few weeks back and I’m excited to share the beauty trends from the runway.

As Fashion Weeks go, Every year, New York Fashion Week sets the style and beauty trends for the upcoming season. Known for its often wild, always chic looks, this year’s Fashion Week didn’t disappoint, emphasizing everything from natural beauty, to stylish sophistication, to high-fashion drama and more.

Whilst clean skin and wash-and-go hair were present across the board during the spring/summer 2017  fashion week shows, the beauty trends that stood out and truly made their mark for me were brighter and bolder than ever. An abundance of glitter from Fendi to DKNY gave the shows a Fabulous I’m ready to take on Summer shimmer, whilst flashes of Eighties inspiration had a more-is-more charm that came into its element in the final days of Paris Fashion Week. And as for hair? Look to Guido Palau, who was responsible for some of the most dramatic transformations of the season. I’m currently totally obsessing over the pastel lip and easiest smokey eye to date!

I saw the same at our our very own SA Fashion Week it was filled with conceptual quirky colour and with Rimmel London as the sponsor it was a colour fest! The past five days have hit like an inspirational jolt. A new energy seemed to pulse through the city, pushing hair and makeup artists to dip into their kits with a fresh creative spirit, the hits kept coming—prismatic lids and transformative backstage cuts that brought youthful energy and playfulness to the fore while somehow managing to maintain a level of sleek Italian sophistication. Here, are some of my hair and makeup lessons to take from the week’s shows that are sure to breathe new life into your beauty routine. I’ll also show you some of my fave international runway looks from Fashion week across the globe  so here are my faves:

1. The wave of ’20s bobs, freshly sheared backstage at Prada by hairstylist Guido Palau, kick-started our collective desire for a chin-grazing cut, which, for the non-committal, also appeared in the form of cheeky Barbie-esque doll wigs at Moschino. Moschino never fails us

2. The easiest smokey eye to date! the colourful smokey eye with a nude palette it’s by far my fave ss17 beauty trend, it’s easy and gives you a fresh,glowing summer look. This smokey eye was spotted on the Marc Jacobs runway so sassy.

 3.Instagram’s “fleeky” brows saw no place on the fashion week runways. Makeup artists embraced the natural length of the models’ brows, flaring them upwards with brow gel to thicken and add depth to the face. No more overly structured brows and gel pots yaaaaaaay! seen  Tommy Hilfiger, MK, Narcisco Rodriguez and more.

4. My fave “I’m a grown woman and can do whatever I like”trend was from our Fashion Muse Victoria beckham. Makeup mega-star Pat McGrath created 3 different looks for Victoria Beckham’s SS17 show using Victoria’s own makeup range with Estee Lauder. All of the models have beautiful luminous skin and lightly groomed brows with the focus on the eye. Blue, green or nude the look whichever of the looks the models had, each was non-geometrical and abstract. The blue eyes (seen here) were applied with fingers, the green shade with brush and the nude eye was a mix of two different shades; a soft brown and a taupey colour creating 3 very different styles.

5. I’m obsessed with nude shades on my nails so you can imagine how excited I was to see nudes at Edon Choi. Spring/ summer 17’s love affair with neutral colours was present in the form of dark nude nails at Edon Choi. Matching the naturalness of the collection as a whole, the chosen varnish, Jessica Phenom in Cashmere Creme, has a mocha coloured finish. It gave the look a warm and relaxed feel, with a touch of understated glamour as a result of the brand’s high-shine finish.

The one thing that connects all of these looks? Skin. In all cases it’s clean, simple, fresh and not overly contrived, contoured or caked. It’s anti YouTube tutorial base make-up and it makes the shimmer and glitter look cool over kitsch. ‘The aim is to make it not look overly done,’ Pat told us. We can work with that.

Finding MINI Paris with the MINI Clubman: Melrose Arch Auto

 

Hey Guys I haven’t blogged in a while so I’m quite excited to share this post with you guys. I got a fabulous MINI Cooper Clubman for the weekend from the fab peeps at Melrose Arch Auto. She’s such a beauty so I took her on a roadtrip to find mini paris in Harties.

The MINI Clubman is stylish grown up yet nimble. IF you’re a MINI fan you’ll definitely love this and won’t be a tad bit disappointed with the Clubman.

We  drove it to Harties and went around tight corners but this little machine stayed planted no matter how hard we pushed it.

The MINI really seems to inspire driver confidence with its agile and sporty demeanor. The Steptronic automatic transmission is smooth and offers quick shifts throughout the power band. I found it perfect for stop-and-go traffic, the last morning I had it.

I’m an Art Director so my fave part is the interior design even though these  features are familiar, from the column-mounted dials to the circular pod crowning the centre stack and housing the large infotainment display and wait for it my fave fave part the ambient light on the infotainment display defos cool!

All in all its a fantastic car I think it makes a great roadtrip car, a little too wide for me personally but pretty nonetheless.

SA Fashion Week with Rimmel SA

I attended SAFW as Rimmel London’s guest this year and as expected I received nothing less than royal treatment in the GQ lounge thanks for taking care of us and for yet anther stylish fashion week. The Rimmel London  SA Team is by far the best I received a beautiful custom made bracelet from the team only 75 of these were made!  I’m sharing some of my favourite looks!  all around faves were from Rubicon and Clive Rundle. I had the privilege of being invited to the spree David Tlale collection hosted by Madisonavenue and girlabouttown as Nimcouture and NimcoutureMen.His new range is nothing short of fabulous the beautiful models rocked up in afro’s it looked like a scene straight out of Beyonce’s formation. Afros are definitely back.
